To cultivate a love for reading and reinforce the importance of literacy, Dharav High School conducted the Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) activity. The entire school community, including students, teachers, and staff, participated in this enriching initiative.
Students brought their favourite books, ranging from classic literature to contemporary fiction, biographies, and informative texts. The serene atmosphere of silent reading transformed classrooms, corridors, and even outdoor spaces into vibrant hubs of knowledge. Teachers and staff also led by example, demonstrating the significance of making reading a daily habit. The activity not only enhanced reading habits but also encouraged discussions about books, cultivating a culture of curiosity and lifelong learning. The school aims to incorporate more reading-based activities in the future to strengthen students’ comprehension, vocabulary, and analytical skills.
